Join guest facilitators, Betsy Salkind and Amy Warshawsky, creators of Improv for Coaches–where coaching meets the spontaneous art of improvisation. Discover more joy in coaching, as we play with presence, active listening, succinctness and co-creation –- embracing the bottomless well of possibilities in each coaching moment.

Come for the warm-up games. Stay for “Coaching with a Twist.”

As with all Competency Co-Labs, bring your adventurous spirit, your sense of play and fun, and of course, a coaching topic!

Purpose:

This series will provide coaches with a platform to practice and to enhance their mastery of the ICF Core Competencies, one drill at a time.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  • Enjoy a fun and challenging environment with interactive, stimulating, and creative drills and discussions.
  • Enhance mastery of ICF Core Competencies through structured practice drills and interactive learning.
  • Improve coaching skills by focusing on one or two core competencies at a time.
  • Seamlessly integrate Core Competency theory into coaching sessions and interactions with clients.
  • Foster a supportive community for shared learning, group discussions, and diverse coaching perspectives.

Format and Notes on Participating:

Attendees are placed into triads or pairs right at the top of the hour after a brief introduction to the day’s exercise. Please join punctually to ensure a seamless experience for you and your colleagues and to minimize disruption.

All attendees are expected to participate fully in both a coach and coaching role during the session.

In accordance with ICF’s code of ethics, all coaching conversations between breakout partners have the expectation of confidentiality.

Meet our Guests and Hosts:

Betsy Salkind, co-founder of BNA Mentor Coaching, is a PCC and Board Certified Health Coach. She holds a Master’s from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and was a Federal Reserve Bank Examiner. She served as Associate Director and Lead Mentor Coach at the ADAPT Functional Health Coach Training Program and currently maintains a private practice. A professional stand-up comic and former TV writer, Betsy toured with a professional improv comedy troupe [Guilty Children], and taught improv at Emerson College, MIT, AMDA, health tech companies, group homes, and more. Improv for Coaches combines her two great passions.


Amy J. Warshawsky, MCC, co-founder of BNA Mentor Coaching, is certified by the International Coach Federation as a Master Certified Coach and by the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches. In addition to maintaining a private practice where she works with individuals and teams, she was a Mentor Coach for the ADAPT Functional Health Coach Training Program and is a Sayge Business Coach and Assessor. Amy brings 12 years of expertise in movement and mind-body techniques to coaching as well as 15 years of experience as a director of community events and communications. She holds degrees from Cornell University and Northwestern.

Vanessa Hagerbaumer, PCC

Vanessa is a PCC-level executive coach and founder of V & CO Coaching where she leads individual and group coaching programs supporting workplace confidence and empowerment.




John W. Sigmon, MCC

John is the CEO and Activist of Sigmon Leadership Solutions, providing leadership coaching and customized development offerings.
