Join ICF NYC for the second installment of the highly regarded Listen & Learn Lab series! We will learn from brief audio recordings from real client sessions and analyze them in conversation with MCC coaches. This is an opportunity to break down coaching approaches, techniques, and learn from MCC colleagues.

Purpose:

An auditory experience to interact with real coaches coaching real clients to develop your active listening skills and expand your fluency of coaching competencies.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  • Be inspired by new coaching styles and perspectives
  • Gain exposure to different styles within the ICF coaching standards
  • Grow confidence in your own style
  • Define and own your coach-approach
  • Leave with ready-to-use techniques for your next coaching session

Agenda:

Enhance your skills by listening to audio snippets and commentary from the sessions of mother and son MCCs, Marion Franklin and David Franklin. Gain insights into common coaching challenges such as:

  • Navigating client discussions about the past.
  • Crafting impactful responses to the client's introductory story.
  • Establishing clear agreements when faced with an ambiguous topic.
  • Embracing silence to elevate client awareness.
  • Bringing attention to clients' non-verbal cues to deepen their awareness.
