with hosts David Matthew Prior, MCC, Jeremy Robinson, MCC, Marion Franklin, MCC, and Meryl Moritz, MCC

The last few months of stay-at-home orders and restrictions on social interactions have stripped away many of our go-to-distractions, presenting an unprecedented opportunity for deepening reflection.  Simultaneously, this period has magnified the inequities within our society, shining a bright spotlight on areas in need of change and demands for change.

Some of our most experienced coaching colleagues reflected on what they have been observing, and spontaneously happened upon three conversational horizons: Humanity, Humility and Humor. Within these horizons, they observed dynamic tensions: how there's been a dearth of humor and yet it brings levity;  that everyone is consciously in a period of learning, change, and adaptation, yet recognizing that we actually don't have the answers -- no matter how much experience and mastery each of us brings to particular subject areas; and finally, there’s a sense of the upwelling of support and genuine desire to contribute and give back, yet a beguiling uncertainty in how to make a firm commitment in a time of economic uneasiness and instability.

Utilizing a coaching-fishbowl format, the audience will be invited into an informal, intimate MCC coaches’ salon, followed by smaller community breakouts inspired by the evening’s topic.  The session will conclude with a full community gathering with opportunities for the audience to share their reflections as well as dialoging 1:1 with the MCC coaches.

The Event

In this inaugural Creative Conversations event, some of our most experienced coaching colleagues will engage in dialogue about their time of reflection, and what opportunities they are seeing and pursuing in their work. From there we will transition into facilitated small-group coaching conversations around what each of us sees as opportunity and how to further what matters most to us. We will then reconvene to share with the group at-large before closing, inspiring new ideas and actions.
