Bio: Dr. Valerie Henning-Piedmonte (she, her, hers)
Valerie is a member of the International Coaching Federation, New York Chapter and credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach currently serving clients in the field of education and human resources. Valerie earned her Doctoral degree in Curriculum, Teaching, and Policy, a Master of Education in Curriculum, and a Master of Arts in English Education from Columbia University Teachers College. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, with a minor in English, from Mount Mary University in Wisconsin.
Several years ago, Valerie retired after nearly three decades of service in public education in New York State, entering the field as a teacher and retiring as a superintendent of schools. Prior to her public school experience, Valerie worked on Wall Street as a business systems analyst at a large bank and as a customer service manager for a well known retailer.
After retiring, Valerie worked for several years as a Managing Director, Leadership Development for Teach For America, New York where she coached and mentored new educators on their journey to full certification, graduate school completion, and a prospective career as a leader.
In addition to executive coaching, Valerie started a non-profit organization, Youthrupters, Inc., whose mission is to bring pre-teens and teens together in New York State and across the country to cultivate their interests and curiosity while building their agency, engagement, leadership, and autonomy needed to thrive and improve our world. Valerie also serves on a team which established a collegial circle to support and advance women in educational leadership.
