Summary Details

When: June 15 2022, 7:00 PM - 8:30PM

Format:  Virtual Zoom Meeting, cameras will be enabled. The event WILL be recorded and the recording shared with all who register.

CCEUs: 1.5 (type TBC)

Who is this event for: All level coaches – From newer coaches looking to expand their skills to seasoned coaches looking to grow their coaching toolkit!

The Event

In this peer resource exchange, four coaches will share one tool or resource they use with their clients regularly and, when possible, they will demonstrate how to use the tool live. You will also have the opportunity to reflect and discuss how you might bring those tools into your own coaching practice while connecting with fellow coaches.

Purpose: This event aims to provide new and seasoned coaches with new ideas, tools and inspiration to create engaging sessions.

Objectives:

  • To inspire you to try out new coaching tools
  • To develop your confidence and creativity
  • To spark curiosity

Agenda:

7.00-7.05: Introductions

7.05-7.25: Dana Kaplan - Catch your thoughts before your thoughts catch you!

Dana will model how to catch low-level thoughts from spiraling by first focusing on the individual's desired state of being. The state of being will be the anchor when thoughts attempt to take us out. The desired state of being is a feeling that grounds us and regulates our nervous system to ensure detachment from emotions that exacerbate the low-level feeling. Dana will take participants through an easily accessible and simple 5 step process that can be done anywhere at any time!

7.25-7.45 - Pam Reaves - SCOREE - Strengths, Challenges, Opportunities, Risks, Explore, Execute for Personal Development (like a SWOT analysis)

SCOREE is a powerful tool for professional development that can be used in a similar way to the SWOT analysis. It provides clients with an easy-to-use visual framework that allows them to identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as areas of potential growth. This helps them gain clarity on where they stand professionally and what steps need to be taken for further progress. Clients can create tangible goals and objectives that will help move their career forward while also developing self-awareness of how they operate within their current environment.

7.45-8.05: Tony Novo - Discovery of Personal Values

In this presentation, you will learn how to use a list of predetermined values, from any source, and leverage the power of a cloud-based “noteboard” called the Padlet, an online, collaborative platform to post, arrange and order notes.

8.05-8.25: Dr. Vivian Nazari - A Seat at the Table

Vivian will facilitate an interactive tool where the client is hosting a dinner attended by procrastination, limiting beliefs, core values and other welcome and not-always-welcome guests. The aim of the exercise is to acknowledge without judgment that although there might be something to learn from each guest, the client has agency over which dinner table conversations and narrative they chose to engage with.

Note to attendees on tool use and permissions: Tools are presented to give inspiration and new ideas for how you can engage creatively with your clients.  These events are an opportunity for peers to learn from each other. The tools shared are a mix of the presenters’ own creation and tools developed by others. Each presenter will share what is permissible as far as re-use and any copyright and citation requirements that must be noted if used by others, in accordance with the ICF Code of Ethics.
