The Event
Learn from Dr. Martha Eddy, the founder of Dynamic Embodiment™ and author of Mindful Movement, the Evolution of the Somatic Arts and Conscious Action. We will define somatic awareness, explore principles of a somatic/embodied practice, discover why they are important in coaching work, and how they align with ICF Core Competencies. Participants will experience first-hand Dr. Eddy's system of Active Witnessing, a multi-sensory form of active listening and will combine Active Listening with Non-verbal Movement Witnessing to evoke our Whole Person awareness. Through breakout learning, discover new ways in meaningful practice on sensing and coaching presence and explore a case study on “When Presence Goes Awry.”

Martha Eddy, DEP, CMA, RSMT, EdD and Licensed TBMC is an international advocate of Somatic Movement Education & Therapy & Somatic Movement Dance Education; author and lecturer on embodied cognition, eco-somatics, the interaction of neuro-motor and socio-emotional development, and the role of the body and movement in peace education and violence prevention. She co-founded Moving On Center in 1994 with Carol Swann in order to bridge Somatic Awareness with Social Change. She is also a senior advisor to the newly forming Institute for Somatics and Social Justice in Philadelphia.
