Bio: As a writer, university writing instructor, and Professional Certified Coach, I wear multiple ‘hats,’ but they are all intertwined.

My desire to become a coach evolved out of my life experiences, teaching work, and a strong background in spirituality, creativity, and human potential.

Since I was small, I’ve always been a spiritual seeker. I’ve read and studied comparative religious traditions and have incorporated what I’ve learned into a daily spiritual practice based on Buddhist teachings. I continue to study and go on retreats to deepen my practice. Connecting with a place of inner refuge in our body-mind is the true source of stability and security.

As a long-time yoga and meditation practitioner, I have received numerous teachings from His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, and am primarily a practitioner of Bon Buddhism, Tibet’s oldest indigenous culture.

I am also a Certified Mindfulness Meditation teacher.

In addition to using the coaching skills I received during my training, I incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and writing into the coaching process.

Practicing mindfulness and meditation helps us open to inner guidance and remain calm and focused.

Writing helps us to explore thoughts and feelings, gain insight, clarify goals, and record progress.

I have been a writer for more than 30 years. Some of my writing has been published. But having a writing practice doesn’t depend on whether one publishes or not.

When I write, I can weave my emotions, personal history, ways of experiencing the world, and the ideas I’ve encountered and absorbed into a story or essay that holds truth. I write to make order out of chaos, open my inner world, and enter a sacred space where I am not alone but in communion with a compelling and benevolent force.

As author and theologian Matthew Fox says, “Creativity happens at the border between chaos and order.” Creativity is a mystical experience, a union, a place where the divine and the human imagination can meet.”

Every life has a purpose, and everyone is equally important. Regardless of your age or situation, each of us has talents and abilities that are unique to you.

We are all moving through successive changes, and I want to support others in making these changes positive.
