A Message from Claudia Bayr, Director of Membership
Just after graduating from IPEC, a former ICF-NYC board member convinced me to apply for a board position with the NYC Chapter. Consequently my contribution to the chapter over the last 4 years were both an expression of my love and passion for our coaching profession and its community, as well as an immense growing experience for myself. I believe that this is an important time for the coaching profession to flourish in the world and make a difference, especially as many are facing tremendous challenges. We as coaches know that the current challenges cannot be solved with the same thinking that has created them. Coaches have the necessary tools to inspire a 'new way of thinking', based on the core principles of coaching like honesty, integrity and commitment. Furthermore our message is louder and makes more impact when we reach out as a community to create that shift in consciousness. I am congratulating the new leaders within our membership who are stepping up to be in service to our amazing chapter here in NYC!

And a couple of reminders...Don't forget that our November 19, 2008 ICF-NYC members' meeting is FREE. A Panel of Experts will share their talents, experiences and knowledge about coaching and successful business practices. So bring your questions and take advantage of a unique opportunity. And mark your calendar for December 8, 2008 and join us at our Annual Holiday Party. The first drink is on us! See more information about both events below.

ICF-NYC Coaches Connection Cancellation

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no Coaches Connection event during the month of November.

ICF-NYC Monthly Meeting

Wednesday, November 19, 2008; 6:00pm - 8:30pm

Topic:
Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Coaching...But Didn't Know Who to Ask

All of those nagging questions about your coaching techniques or your business practices that have plagued you for years can now be answered by the pros! We have assembled a Panel of Experts - the folks who have been there, done that and succeeded - and are bringing them to you on November 19, 2008 at our ICF-NYC Members Meeting. Our Experts include:
Margaret A. Gomez, MCC, SPHR - Leadership and Executive Coach

Katherine Poehnert, PCC - Certified NLP Practitioner, Founder and President of Insight Services Coaching

Bernie Siegel, ACC - President of ICF-NYC, Business/Executive and Leadership Coach
That's a lot of talent, along with the hard work, trial-and-error testing, and perseverance needed to create a successful business. And they are ready to share their secrets of success, as well as pitfalls to avoid and the best ways to overcome difficulties. So sharpen your pencils and write down all the things you ever wanted to ask. You can mail them to the address listed below before the meeting or bring them along with you and speak from the audience on the night of the event. The Evening of Experts will be hosted by ICF-NYC and moderated by Life Coach TV Co-Hosts Bonnie Gurwicz and Laurie Lawson.

And we saved the best for last - in appreciation of your support throughout the year and in recognition of current financial uncertainties, we are dropping the cost of attending to ZERO! Please register online so that we can get an idea of how many chairs and yummy snacks we will need but be our guest for the last ICF-NYC meeting of 2008. Looking forward to seeing you there!
