ICF-NYC Monthly Meeting
Wednesday, November 28, 2007; 6:00pm - 8:30pm

Topic: The Empowerment Society of the United States of America

Speaker: Pamela Pfeiffer, CEC, ESUSA President

Pamela Pfeiffer became a self-made millionaire before the age of forty. Her successes before founding The Empowerment Society of the United States of America (ESUSA) have spanned a career as a fashion fit model, restaurateur, and real estate investor. Her visionary talents, confidence, and focused determination are the steadfast qualities which continue to push her projects through to completion.

Pamela's passion as a Certified Life Empowerment Coach created The Empowerment Society of the United Stated of America, the first not-for-profit life coaching organization that has full blessings from the United States Department of Defense. Come find out how she took a vision of life coaching benefiting our female troops and is turning it into a centralized, contemporary link connecting military women across America both personally and professionally.

No matter what your political inclination, show your gratitude to our troops and become a part of this dynamic adventure at the ICF-NYC meeting with two opportunities. Sign up as a volunteer life coach and Pamela will give you a free listing, complete with bio and picture, on her website (www.empowermentsociety.org). And bring along your favorite inspirational/empowering quote that you use in your life coaching. It will become a part of an e-book to be sent overseas to our troops who can't make it home over the holidays on behalf of the ICF-NYC. And everyone who brings a quote will also receive a copy of the e-book that can be shared with your clients!

Good deeds, great returns, and plenty of holiday spirit - you can't miss this one.

Focusing Skills Workshop
Saturday, November 10, 2007; 9:45am - 4:15pm

Topic: Making Felt Sense

Leaders: Larry Hurst, certified focusing trainer and relationship coach; Julia Schaffer, certified focusing trainer and educational presenter; Judith Cobb, certified focusing trainer and clinical psychologist.

Making Felt Sense is a daylong experiential workshop in which you will learn to handle situations, dilemmas and issues from a deeper state of conscious awareness by attuning yourself to the wisdom of your whole being (the 'body-brain'). For most of us, this is a journey through uncharted territory. Living through the "felt sense" challenges preconceptions and brings fresh insights. It also stimulates action steps, by calling upon our own internal listening resources. The psychologist-philosopher Dr. Eugene Gendlin gave the name Focusing to the process, which he describes as "spending a little time with something you can feel but don't yet know what it is". Many describe it as engaging your own inbuilt detective agency. New York's Lynn Preston, an international leader in the integration of Focusing with psychotherapy, extols it as "a new way of thinking, a way of being, an orientation and a practice now used all over the world in a wide variety of fields". This will be the 12th workshop to be run by members of this team for coaches and allied professionals in New York and elsewhere in the States and in Europe. More on the subject at www.focusing.org

Location: Upper West Side, Manhattan, at West 86th Street offices. (Details will be emailed to enrollers.)

Cost: $150 - Includes follow-up mentoring and an opportunity for ongoing exchange with other participants in this and previous workshops.

Registration: Contact Larry Hurst at larry.hurst@focus-in-touch.com or call (917)595-6884.

There is a maximum of 10 participants for this workshop.

Credits: CCEUs attendance at the workshop will earn 6 hours of continuing coaching education units in two key categories: core competencies and personal development, accredited by the International Coach Federation.
