Message from the Vice President

ICF-NYC was proud to be a co-sponsor, along with The Columbia Coaching Certification Program, Claire Communications, Choice Magazine, and Web Power Tools, of the first-time-ever Day of Marketing. On May 16, 2008, attendees came away with a wealth of knowledge including marketing tips from the pros, essential websites, resources galore, and inspiration from successful entrepreneurs who have been there and tested the best methods to promote your services and your businesses. We learned how to make money while we sleep (Marcy Nelson Garrison - Creating Products), how to make your website work for you (Deborah Gallant), how to create a newsletter without writing a word (Linda Claire Puig), how to use computer technology (Sandra De Freitas) and public speaking (Henry deVries) confidently as marketing tools, and how to make the best use of a virtual assistant (Linda Selden). Sandy Schussel's successful Marketing Plan was revealed and Jim Cameron told us how to establish ourselves as authorities in our fields. And a panel which included our own ICF-NYC President Bernie Siegel gave us creative ways to promote our practices. Outside the rain kept up a steady beat all day, but inside an enjoyable and productive time was had by all. I'm already working on getting some of the presenters to speak at our meetings in 2009 and will keep you posted.

Meanwhile, don't miss out on the exciting events coming up. Brenda Smith of Peoplesmith Global, Inc., will be presenting The Business Case for Coaching in Organizations: Best Practices for Executive Coaches, on June 18, 2008. This is a particularly relevant subject in these times of a depressed economy, and as a special bonus, you get to bring an executive client (or potential client) to the meeting free of cost. And then on the June 21, 2008 the fantastic Michelle Schubnel of the internationally-acclaimed Coach and Grow R.I.C.H. programs will be presenting a workshop - Attract Great Clients and Fill Your Practice Fast. Check out our website for more details. We're working hard to bring you what you told us you wanted at the beginning of the year. Be sure to take advantage of these unique opportunities!
